02/2026 - Statement on the “National Tourism Strategy”

The “National Tourism Strategy” published by the BMWE on January 28, 2026 is a commitment to greater competitiveness and growth for the German tourism industry. The recognition of tourism as a socially significant and prosperity-enhancing key sector is an important signal in the context of complex global challenges. The focus on reducing bureaucracy, digitalization, accessibility, and sustainability is expressly to be welcomed.

In its statement, ZENAT addresses the gaps and inconsistencies in the strategy paper.
